I have been getting some lovely emails from folks asking me to check out their shops, Instagram, videos, charity projects, galleries etc.   This is great fun for me because; it makes me feel very special, I LOVE checking out cool tattoos and tattoo related artwork, and you guys are literally spoon-feeding me articles making my “job” ridiculously easy.

Red Baron Ink in NYC features a range of artists and styles with quality and artistry their top priorities. Owned by Grant Lubbock and showcasing excellent artists including tattoo superstar Dave Tevenal, Red Baron is a small shop that packs a powerful punch.  They have written up a lovely little piece about how Red Baron got started…..

Look for this fantastic studio in NYC

A little history on Red Baron Ink and how it got started. Red Baron Ink started with a dreamer aka Grant Lubbok. Grant moved from California Summer 2012, with one dream in mind and that was to open a Tattoo shop in NYC. He made it happen! When Grant first moved to NYC, one can say he was technically homeless as he slept at the shop and didn’t have anywhere else to go. No family, no friends just the shop and the dream to make it Successful.  Fast forward to Fall 2012 after he met me (Giselle) and Superstorm Sandy was about to hit NYC, I said to him “dude you’re not staying at the shop, you’re in ground zero, you’re coming with me to Inwood Manhattan”. Needless to say he never slept in the shop again and we got married March 2013.

With any business, it took a bit for it to take off and in some months my salary from working at Verizon Wireless carried shop expenses and home expenses. It took some late nights, long days and sacrifice to get the shop to where it’s at today. What started as a one man show with one store front is now, two side by side store fronts with six rotating artist.

We strive to provide to provide one of a kind tattoos of our artist creations or modelled by the references brought in by our clients. Our goal is to have each tattoo walking out the door attract six blank canvases back, along with repeat clientele . We aim to do so by guiding our clients on the right tattoo for them. Meaning ensuring the size, location and the art are a good representation of them, our artistry and most importantly Red Baron Ink Tattoo.

Who wouldn’t want to get a tattoo from this crew?

Although we are not the biggest shop in NYC in a residential area I like to say that we are small but mighty, constantly seeking innovation and bettering our craft.

Each artist has a different style and bring something different to the table:

Grant Lubbock: loves neo-traditional work, mainly animals. Never afraid to try something new and makes his tattoos bold, colorful and lively.
